When you categorize pediatric patients - we tend to think of little ones and we often forget that "teenagers" fall under that same category. Teens, nowadays, are often influenced by social media trends and my goal is to inform children of all ages about oral hygiene and the do's/don'ts of dentistry. I encourage all parents and their kids to watch this video about rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide (whitening) and filing teeth (veneers). Follow: Teeth Talk for more information about oral hygiene

Although it is being promoted that a majority of dental offices are only seeing "emergency" patients; all dental facilities are now open for regular visits with necessary precautions. Nationwide, most assume that dental visits are non essential to their health - even during the pandemic. Parents should take their children to the dentist regularly, beginning with the eruption of the first tooth. Then, the dentist can recommend a specific program of brushing, flossing, and other treatments for parents to supervise and teach to their children. These home treatments, when added to regular dental visits and a balanced diet, will help prevent decay and give your child a lifetime of healthy habits. Bring your child today for their routine check up and join the Tiny Teeth family!

FAQ: What is sleep dentistry, and why would a pediatric dentist recommend it? Often we have parents who are very concerned about sedation and if it's safe for their kids. We are here to put your mind at ease and inform you a little bit about the practice of sedation! Occasionally, a pediatric dentist will recommend that a child undergo sedation to safely and comfortably allow all proposed dental treatment to take place. Rest assured, Dr. Yun Song is specially trained in the ...safe administration of pediatric dental care under general anesthesia, and during these procedures, is accompanied by our anesthesiologists (Dr. Marjon B. Jahromi), and state-of-the-art technology. Dr. Yun Song performs sleep dentistry in a safe, comfortable environment; not only at our facility, but also with an JCHAO-accredited outpatient surgery center (https://childrensdentalsurgerycenter.com/faq/) located in Santa Ana for our Denti-Cal carriers. We will only ever perform these procedures in our facilities to ensure the best outcome for your child. Your child may fall under this category if: He/she is not relaxed or calm enough for treatment to be performed safely. He/she needs a large amount of restorative work that can best be done in one long appointment. He/she needs extractions or other treatment that might be hard for the child to tolerate while awake. He/she has a disability that limits the child’s ability to understand directions and be treated safely. If you have any further questions regarding the procedure feel free to contact us. We hope this made you feel more comfortable with the sedation option for your child!

During these uncertain times, some of our parents are concerned for their children's health and safety. We have received multiple questions regarding the protocols that we are taking in our own practice in order to prevent spread. Before every appointment we pre-screen all of our patients via phone and upon arrival of the appointment. Temperatures are taken and hand sanitizer will be provided. To ensure the comfort of our patients, we follow proper social distancing by limit...ing families in the waiting area - which include having parents call from the parking lot to inform that they are here for their appointment and all families must be wearing a mask. In addition to the infection control guidelines, we have placed a Medical Grade Filtration H13 True HEPA in each room for the well being of our patients. Down below is a link to the "Dental Board of California Infection Control Regulations" to be further educated on the standard procedures. Stay safe Tiny Teeth Family!
