Sometimes you need to pause your pursuit for perfection and appreciate your surroundings as they are, flaws and all.

You know that feeling when cold saltwater hits your feet. In that very instant you are no longer IN nature... rather, you BECOME nature. You become connected to the wild, you are part of the earth. You are not alone... you are ALIVE.

One of the most refreshing times at Lake Powell is when the sun sets over the cliffs leaving the water below in the shade. Sunlight still reflects off the red sandstone walls of the canyon which causes a unique lighting effect on the water surface, making it appear as "liquid gold" for a brief period of time each day. The air temperature drops significantly but the water temperature stays warm. This very moment is the best time to cool off after a hot day playing in the sun. Have you experienced this?
