Well folks, tomorrow is the big day. Kaelyn is scheduled for scoliosis surgery at 7:30. I'll keep you posted on how she does. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated. Take care.

Even out of the business, I'm here to help you guys. This is the kind of thing that is invaluable to any automotive professional

A while back, we got a couple of ponies from a pony ride rescue for Kaelyn. She loves them, and they seem to like her as well. What I find interesting about t...hem is that they are capable of violating laws of physics. For example, yesterday morning, I threw them each a flake of hay. By evening, they had turned those two flakes into an entire bale of poop. I'm sure there is a valuable use for this magical ability to create matter, but to me, its just extra work and anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not inclined to extra work. I've nursed this gut to its present size by avoiding foolishness like that, and I don't intend to make any rash changes in my life now. Being a science minded person, I began a study to find the root cause of this situtation. What I discovered is that ponies, like horses, are vegan. As such, they poop a lot. I eat meat, and I only go once or twice a day. Kirby, our dog also eats meat and his excrement is also very manageable. So, how do I use this to solve the problem you might ask? The obvious answer is to start feeding the ponies meat, thus bringing their digestive tracts into a more civilized condition. Problem is that if you throw a pony a pork chop, he'll just poop on it. However, I was in Pet Smart the other day and I've solved the problem. You see, I discovered that a good many dry dog food brands contain corn. Ponies love corn. Problem solved. After three weeks on the new diet, the ponies are flourishing. Yes, it looks like a four hundred pound Rotweiler took a dump in the stall, but there is only one per day per pony. Also, they used to have this holier than thou smugness about them, looking down their noses at me and the dog. I thought they were just proud of their beautiful manes and tales, but I learned that it was a direct effect of their vegan diets. Now, they are more humble, less judgmental and I never knew it, but they have a sense of humor. We also have great video of them dragging their butts across the floor of the stall. On the down side, its kind of disturbing to watch Soda Pop (the gelding) sit on his rump and lick himself.

Hey guys. Just a quick update on what's going on. Two weeks ago, Kaelyn got a feeding tube installed in prep for the scoliosis surgery. We're fighting with doctors over details and crap, but it looks like the actual surgery will happen at the end of October. I wish I would have stayed in business until the surgery was scheduled, but I guess I live and learn about how doctors work and the importance they place on covering their asses. Too bad I had to be 56 before I lived and learned, but I never was the sharpest peanut in the turd. Miss you guys and please stay in touch. I want to know how you are all doing.

Well, I've been out of touch for a while. Since I left the truck, I've been working for a friend on his truck, part time while trying to get Kaelyn healthy enough to get her surgery. It looks like its possibly going to happen soon, as her last sleep study was better than before and the pulmonary doctor seems ready to sign off on it. I'll keep in touch as things move ahead. Later
