Let’s face it, this year has been a stressful one. As business leaders, we were all put to the test of what we really were capable of. Our teams have also been stretched in terms of responsibilities and simply managing a world full of worries. Given how sideways this year has been, we want to end it with something equally unconventional by noting a bunch of things that we are actually grateful for as a result of all of this. Of course, we should all start by being grateful... for our frontline workers, nurses, doctors, delivery drivers, and grocery store clerks. We are also grateful for social distancing. Not just because it saves lives, but because it forced our team to look at our business differently. It forced us into embracing new ways to work with our clients and into embracing a whole new world of technology. We are grateful to our amazing team, who despite the chaos still managed to rank as the #1 small team in Sacramento City and County with $90 million in sales this year. We are grateful for kind-heartedness Sacramentans who helped us get involved and made it possible to increase the amount we’ve given to local and regional charities for the past few years, up to $265,000. But most of all, we are grateful for unintended consequences. Because although this year has been pretty rough, it’s also forced us to appreciate so much of what we used to take for granted and really allowed us to reset our priorities.
