What a special day that was. So excited for future intimate weddings
Great tribute to the memory of Frieda Caplan, a client, friend and household name in the produce industry who passed Janauary 2020. We had the honor of planning, designing and catering her memorial for 1200 guests in February 2020, just a few weeks before our country shut down with the COVID-19 global pandemic not allowing families to gather and remember the lives of their loved ones. It was the last time we also were surrounded by that many people in a room. One day, hopefully soon people will be able to gather and celebrate all of life’s milestones!

1000 attendees celebrating the life of Frieda Caplan of Frieda's Produce, the Kiwi Queen, first woman to bring the kiwi to America, the pioneer of the produce industry, a client, friend and mentor. It's been almost 3 months since we've been in the kitchen with our entire team, producing large scale weddings and events. We blinked and it's almost June. Although we don't yet know when California will open up to large scale weddings and events, we do know that now is the time to create a new norm in our industry. We certainly do miss all our clients we have worked with over the years, a unique group of people gathered in one place for one moment to share the most universa...l human conversation: a meal. Not to forget working with our team on a daily basis producing memorable, one of a kind experiences for our clients in their homes, workplaces and venues. As restaurants begin to open up, there is still much uncertainty, flexibility and level of comfort, while many people are hosting social distance parties at their homes for their birthdays, kids graduations, micro weddings, anniversaries, memorials and beyond. Don't let a global pandemic get in the way of celebrating life's milestones. Life is too short to stop living life to the fullest! Since the quarantine began, we have been donating meals to our local hospitals here in Orange County thanks to our donors! So far we have been able to offer meals to our front line workers at Orange Coast Memorial and Fountain Valley Hospital. If you have a local hospital you would like to donate meals to, reach out to us and we’ll make it happen. Our hero’s need all the love and support they can get right now!
I’m really excited to share some inspiring news! We had an anonymous donor donate $1000 to provide meals to medical staff treating patients with Covid-19. Brandon and I have been dilegnetly working these past few weeks, trying to create some kind of new norm in the workplace, basically starting a new division of our business to keep our doors open until this passes, reaching new clientele and wanting to help our community and give back. This opportunity is going to allow u...s to give back to the front line workers and open more doors to continue to help. We are connecting with a local hospital and will be implementing donated meals starting the week of April 20th. We’ve decided to take next week off to regroup, have some quality time with our children and give our home the necessary love it needs right now as well. If you or anyone you know is interested in donating meals to medical staff, have a connection with a hospital who would like to accept meals, or have any other suggestions, please comment below or PM me.
