My home made, all natural cough syrup. 1 Cup Whiskey or Scotch (you can also reduce ratios for smaller batches or for less alcohol. For children use 1/4 cup or less Whiskey or Scotch to 1.5 cups honey). I like to use an aged Scotch but it's not necessary. 1 and one half cups honey, I always try and use local. If you can get local, raw honey use it.... 1/4 Cup squeezed Lemon juice (I used Organic lemons in this batch because they happened to actually be half the price of regular lemons): it's ok if you get some pulp in it, just no seeds. You can adjust this to taste as well using more or less juice as you prefer. For the piece de resistance I separate this into two separate batches and add Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil of Peppermint to one mason jar with half of the concoction. Voila! One peppermint and one plain, all natural cough syrup. Look up the why the benefits of the antioxidant and antispasmodic properties of whiskey, when combined with natures other two powerhouses honey and lemon, make it such a great option for your cold or cough. Also be sure to look up appropriate dosing guidelines if giving to small children.
