We Want To Help I can’t speak for other insurers but I know that many of our Farmers clients may be facing financial challenges during this time and I want to take this time to share that help is available. In addition to complying with any state mandated actions, we are making adjustments to allow extra time for you to pay for your Farmers- branded Auto, Home, Umbrella, and Specialty policies. Pausing Cancellations The first step we’re taking is temporarily pausing policy... cancellations due to non-payment, from now through May 1, 2020. This means you will have until at least May 1 to make a mid-term payment, if one is due, and any unpaid balance will carry over to your next billing statement with no late fee or other penalty. Renewals We also understand that some customers who intend to renew their insurance with Farmers may be experiencing financial difficulty. If you receive a notice that your policy is expiring and you need additional time to pay, please contact us and we will extend your due date until at least May 1 and waive any late fees. To make such a request, call us at 1-888-327-6335. State Mandated Rules In some states, the Department of Insurance may mandate that insurance carriers extend payment periods or do not cancel policies for a period of time. If your state issues such a mandate, and it allows you greater payment flexibility than what we’ve outlined above, we will honor that directive. What to expect if you defer payment Through these actions we are providing additional time to pay while still maintaining your coverage. Therefore, your premium for this coverage will continue to accumulate. If you are able to pay your bill on time, or even a portion of your bill, we recommend you do so to prevent a large balance due when normal billing operations resume. Should you have any questions, please call our Farmers customer care center at 1-888-327-6335 Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 11:00pm CST, and Saturday-Sunday 8:00am to 8:00pm CST. As a Farmers client, you also have access to 24/7 self-service tools to assist you. As your agent, my staff and I will continue to monitor state mandates and the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will let you know if these dates are extended further by Farmers.
