At this time, our salon will NOT be offering services outside. After a long hard look at the facts surrounding hair services performed outside, and looking at the documents handed down from our state and governing boards it becomes really clear that this is a sad attempt to placate an industry struggling to survive this pandemic. If we look at even the smallest details of this situation we can see that: ... 1. We’ve spent thousands of dollars setting up all the safety precautions and acquiring PPE in order to follow the first round of operating regulations. After being out of work many depleted the remainder of their bank accounts or took on more debt just to make sure they could reopen. 2. Doing hair outside in the heat of the summer will be awful. Why? Imagine being in El Centro or in the desert. Imagine it being 100+ degrees and sitting under a plastic cape sweating. 3. How can you contain the hair? Salons that are next to restaurants, and both are operating outdoors, hair would be floating around dining 4. We are being stripped of even more income. Previously we had to limit the amount of clients we were able to see, finish one client fully before we could service the next client. Now we are limited in types of services 5. Many stylists laid off their assistants because they could no longer double book. 6. Some had to remove salon chairs and staff in order to abide by the 6 foot social distancing order so we lost income there as well. 7. Now we are being asked to only provide haircuts which equate to a small fraction of our business. And... We cannot have our guests inside of the salon for any reason, so no shampoos. Hot sweaty heads and no shampoos. You can spray someone down with a spray bottle though 8. Did we talk about safety precautions we’ve instated yet? Well how can we uphold all these new precautions on a side walk or parking lot? Many thoughts about the sanitary conditions of that situation come to mind. I’m sure there is more I’m just not thinking straight right now but will add to it. So please know that when you hear someone not wanting to work in these conditions, it’s not because they think they can survive on Government Assistance or unemployment. It’s that we know that all the schooling we’ve had, and precautions we’ve taken, makes it much safer to provide services inside. You may also see salons and barbershops deciding to stay open and work inside. They are weighing their risks. Lose everything or be fined and lose their license. We had a lot to learn and a lot to do as an industry the first time around. MOST of us have complied!!! We have limited choices on how to move forward. Please continue to support your stylist, and business owners. Stand With Us #SaveOurSalons *Copied from a friend*

It’s a shame in beauty school we are only taught Caucasian hair techniques. I can tell you a million ways to cut a white woman’s hair but I walked out of school with no knowledge how to take care of a black woman’s hair. Black women deserve to be able to walk in any place and receive amazing hair care. We must do better in educating ourselves. Don’t be embarrassed if you find this hitting a nerve, just do better. We all have to start somewhere. Thank you @respectmyhair on IG ...for these informative slides. . . . . . #respectmyhair #blackgirlmagic #beautyschooleducation #typesofcurls #ethnichair #dobetter #bebetter #knowledgeispower See more

Hi Everyone! Looks like we will be able to open soon based off of today’s conference with Governor Newsome. We still are waiting on the restrictions from our county. Once we have all the necessary information and policies in place, the owners of our wonderful salon will set an opening date. When I have that date I will start contacting those who had an appointment that had to be canceled due to the Pandemic and those who prepaid for their appointments first. If you would like an appointment feel free to text me 760-803-3303. Please be patient as we navigate our opening and rebooking. Thank you and Miss you all!

Amazing Clients & Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Salon Sultry has chosen to temporarily close our doors until further notice for the safety of all of our clients and stylists. Due to Covid19 we are doing our part in helping to flatten the curve and prevent the spread of this virus. Unfortunately at this time we do not have an opening date. Once it is deemed safe to do so we will throw those doors open and welcome you with open arms!... If you have an upcoming appointment, I will be contacting you to reschedule as we learn more. Thank you for your loyalty and understanding during this time. I truly appreciate & value each and everyone of you. In the meantime: stay inside but active, enjoy something you love but never have enough time to do, share quality time with your family and above all else, stay healthy friends. See you soon!! Kimberly
