Feeding time at The Pet Shoppe. A baby Savanah monitor that grows up to be 3 feet long. Their husbandry is simple but needs to be on point. A super hot basking area and lots of insects to feed it. A custom enclosure will eventually be needed when adult. Simple but big. They also can be puppy dog tame if you put the time into it. Definitely not for the beginner reptile keeper.

Thinking about keeping invertebrates? A great one to start with is Asbolus verrucosus aka Blue death feigning. Not only do they look super cool with their blue armor like body. They are very simple to take care of. They come from the southwestern desert areas. They do great with room tempature. No special lighting or heat. Very active during the day. In the wild they eat dried up insects mainly. Dry cat food or fish flakes work well in captivity. Your blue color comes from a waxy buildup that they secrete. It helps them retain water. The Blue death feigning is simply awesome!
