We have something heartwarming we wanted to share.. Our sister store, Cheap Thrills Records, was contacted by someone who had stolen from The Sub appx 15 years ago, and he wanted to make restitution. He made a $137 payment to make up for what he had stolen. It's never too late to make things right! Thank you Sir, we appreciate your honesty and contacting us to settle up! <3 P.S. We miss you guys! We know 2020 is pretty crazy, stay strong!

Today is a hard day for The Sub family. Hug your loved ones, try to appreciate your life as it is now - the good and the bad - because everything can change in a heartbeat. Most people don’t know this, but 6 days after our store was burned down, a part of our extended family - Kelly Sulamo - passed away in a car accident at the young age of 22. Kelly was smart, kind, beautiful, generous and funny. She will be forever missed, and we dedicate this post to her. We do still hope to reopen one day, but life and downtown rent prices have gotten in the way. Thanks for not giving up on us. Please take the time to tell people you love how you feel about them, in honor of Kelly.

Can anyone name a structure that SLOFD has saved? It has been more than a decade, easily, since they were able to save a structure of any kind. We dread the day one of our hospitals or a multi story building such as the Anderson Hotel catches fire. Check out the video on KSBY of the barn fire on Friday night. Raging fire, fire trucks - and not a drop of water being put on. Our FD can’t even save a structure in the rain! WE NEED REFORM AND A FIRE DEPT THAT ACTUALLY FIGHTS FIRES AND SAVES STRUCTURES!

The Sub fire started shortly before 11am, the adjacent Square Deal (SDRS) building didn't catch fire until 1pm. Can anyone explain why SLO City FD would go into a building NOT on fire, and kick holes into a building that IS on fire?? We kept trying to get the FD to understand the only breach in the fire wall was The Sub Office, and to protect The Sub Office so the fire didn't get to Square Deal (to which they replied "we don't want your input, stop talking to us or you'll be arrested"). Then "coincidentally" TWO kick holes appear in The Sub Office from Square Deal (only one pictured here). OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT NEEDS REFORM, THE LEADERSHIP IS CORRUPT. #JUSTICEFORTHESUB

Anything you see in the media that we "denied them access to investigate our fire" is a bold lie. We have been BEGGING for an investigation since the building was literally on fire. We have email chains with the city to prove it. We asked for the State to be brought in, since clearly we think our local FD leadership is dishonest. All requests for an investigation were DENIED. No investigators even attempted to access our building, which the City had control of for days and did not need our permission. They merely looked outside and said "oh boy, that's a bad fire, cause undetermined." Why won't our City investigate the biggest fire in SLO in decades?
