Writings On The Wall WRITINGS ON THE WALL RECEPTION AT LUNA’S AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 2017 Hello. I would like to invite you to Writings on the Wall (aka WOW) at Luna’s Cafe. There is a pre-reception for the exhibit on Wed. Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. We invite those whose work was accepted into the show to view the exhibit. This event is open to the public, so please invite your friends!... The exhibit will be on display at Luna’s through February, with a program show on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. that we would love for you to attend to share one or two poems and to enjoy the art, music and camaraderie. We are accepting submissions for the Feb. 2017 debut of Writings on the Wall 2: Struggle and Victory and/or War and Peace. Please submit 1-2 poems that fit with the theme. By sending your poem/s, you give WOW producer MJ McWhorter and WOW Editor Dr. V.S. Chochezi permission to edit and use your poem to create an enlarged visual art piece. The Soap Salon will have sole ownership of the art piece created using your poem, to remain part of the collection or in some cases to be sold. Proceeds will be used to offset costs of producing the exhibit. Poets whose work is accepted for the exhibit will be asked to sign contracts detailing the terms. For pieces that are sold, the poet whose work appears on the art will receive a portion of the proceeds as agreed upon in the contract. Poets and artists will have the first opportunity to purchase their pieces at a discounted rate, ensuring the costs of creating the work are recouped. The artists maintain ownership and copyright of their poems as submitted and can continue to use the poems for other works. If accepted for the exhibit, your poem(s) will be enlarged and featured as a new visual art piece which The Soap Salon will own and reserves the right to display, sell or hold in collection. Previously published poems and simultaneous submissions are eligible. The official call for submissions will open up at the exhibit reception, so if you know anyone who might want to participate, share the information with them. But whether you can attend or not, submission is free. Email your poems to [email protected] to be considered or contact MJ via email if you have questions or concerns. Fondly, ~MJ McWhorter, Owner/Soap Salon ~VS Chochezi, Poet/Coordinator/WOW Editor

Join us at the Brickhouse Gallery this Saturday for the Writings On The Wall Special Art & Poetry show. The beautiful and incredibly talented Poet/Songstress Ifamodupe will perform with Guitarist "Get Down" Russell Brown. Our featured Poets Mr. Vincent Kobelt and M.E. Miller will perform pieces from the exhibit. The exhibit itself is a collection of 32 poetic art pieces, which includes poems from, V.S. Chochezi, Daphne Burgess, Mario Hill, Sean King, Milton ‘510’ Bowens, Charles Curtis Blackwell, Staajabu (Straight Out Scribes), Dawn Dibartola, Gerry GOS Simpson, and a host of others. Open Mic, Wine and hors d’oeuvres, don't miss it! I think its safe to say that Barbara will also be firing up the outdoor pizza oven, yum. Hope to see you there.
