As I scroll through photos my heart full of gratitude and is deepened by the impact we make in our community. Seeing the faces of kids, their parents and our clients enjoying this environment I’m overwhelmed with love. They are the reason we get up at 5am and work until 7pm. Why we hone our craft pushing to be better each day.... To have the ability to give a boost is someone’s confidence is a great feeling. The conversations and the shop banter is deeply missed and I look forward to the day when we are back behind the chair. I love all of my brothers and wish all our clients aka family the best during this time. You are all missed.

Due the recent Shelter in Place order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are closing The San Mateo Zoo until further notice. We’re a small business that houses independent contractors and when we can’t provide our services, we don’t get paid. That is an inherent risk of being self-employed. This global pandemic is something none of us saw coming and unfortunately isn’t covered by insurance. Yet here we are, all trying our best to stay positive, to support our families and... to support our community by doing what is being asked and by doing what is right: staying home and by doing so, keeping others safe. The barbershop is more than just a place to get your haircut. It’s a community, a respite for so many, a place where people come to feel good about themselves and to connect with each other. We don’t want to lose this special place. In order to ensure we have a place to provide services when the shelter in place is lifted, we are asking for your help. All funds raised will go towards paying the shop bills that will not be met due to our inability to work for you, our customers. This is a challenging time for us all.
