They are collecting donations (through an Amazon wish list) to build goodie bags for... 400 kids from the Marjaree Mason Center to create the best possible Halloween. They need your help. Good afternoon Rough Rider Community! As you are aware, the Creek Fire has greatly impacted our mountain communities, including the places where some of our ve...ry own FUSD teachers live. To provide support, our RHS ASB will be holding a Toiletries Drive for the Creek Fire victims this coming week, Sept 14th Sept 18th. If you wish to help, you can bring any of the following items (only new items please): Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Dental Floss, Mouthwash, Liquid or Bar Soap, Toilet Paper, Facial Tissue, Paper Towels, Brushes & Combs, Shampoo & Conditioner, Body Wash, Lotions, Deodorant, Nail Clippers, and Zip Lock Bags. Items may be dropped off any time between 8:00am - 4:30pm next week (9/14-9/18). Enter through the Main Tulare Gate and drive to the end of the parking lot near East Hall. Once you arrive, please call the Main Office at 559-253-5200 so they can notify us to have someone come out to collect donations. We will be following all safety and social distance protocols. Senior Check Out Celebration Day #1 on Friday, May 29th at Roosevelt was a HUGE SUCCESS!!! Our Seniors began their celebration at 8:15am as they checked-in at t...he South Barton Gate entrance of our campus. Our Rough Rider Staffulty, Students, and Community Members were there to CHEER on our Seniors and they stationed themselves throughout the route that had a few important stops: South Barton Gate entrance, through the Access Road between the Science Wing and Bungalows, toward East Hall, through the Midway between The Rough Rider Stable, the Gymnasium, Weight Room and Wrestling Room, between the Library and the Cafeteria, with a left turn at West Hall and the RSA Office, past the Stage Craft Room and Band Room, toward the Tennis Courts and into the Cedar Parking Lot, in front of the Recording Studio, intertwining between the Parking Stalls, into the second to last station where our Seniors were able to have their name announced on the ALL-SCHOOL PA system -heard from each corner of our campus and into our surrounding neighborhood so that the Rough Rider Community could Cheer for each individual SENIOR as they received their Cap & Gown and/or Senior Gift Swag Bag, and finally arriving at a Photo Opportunity with our Principal, Mr. Allen, and an exit out into Cedar Avenue. Even then our Seniors and their families made a few more pit stops on their own to take a few epic pictures in front of our Audra McDonald Theatre, and in front of our BEAUTIFUL school on Tulare Avenue. There were a myriad of emotions ranging from cheering, to happy tears, cars honking to honor the grads, whistling, and words of gratitude. It takes a village to plan these grandiose events at RHS and our Rough Rider Family made sure to come together to plan and organize a BEYOND MEMORABLE event for our Seniors and their families. We Love you Seniors!!! Day #2 of our Senior Checkout Celebration will take place on Monday, June 1st at 8:30am and we cannot wait to celebrate our remaining Seniors. All photos taken at both Senior Celebrations will be posted on our Roosevelt Fresno (Roosevelt-Activities) Facebook, our Roosevelt Rough Rider Class of 2020 group on Facebook, Theodore Roosevelt High School - Fresno, California Facebook page, and on our RHS Website later in the week.
