Spotlight on Jennie Portney, TA SLP Program Supervisor! Jennie is a bilingual speech language pathologist who works both in Manhattan and in Upstate New York. She currently provides direct services as a consultant at the Bank Street Family Center an integrated special education early childhood program in Manhattan, where she provides treatment to children with a variety of needs, ranging from mild articulation disorders to complex feeding cases. Jennie also supervises spe...ech language pathology graduate interns from Teachers College, Columbia University and NYU. Over the course of her academic career, Jennie has studied special education in Brazil, traveled to Bolivia, and traveled to Ghana in order to collaborate with cleft palate medical teams, providing speech therapy treatment plans for patients post-surgery. In her free time, Jennie loves to travel, be outside, read, play music, try new foods, dance, go to art museums, and listen to live music.
