Hope everyone is safe and healthy as we approach the holidays. Normally around this time, we’d take orders for trays of Ann’s Cornbread Bibingka for Thanksgiving. In light of the news of Los Angeles as a purple tier county with rising COVID-19 cases, we have decided to hold off this time around in regards to Thanksgiving orders. We have had the honor of feeding healthcare workers since March and made this decision also with them in mind. They’ve been running a marathon since March and we hope that sharing their message of being more careful and not complacent during the onset of flu season will help us all get through this faster so we can all see a light at the end of the tunnel. We wish you all a happy and safe holiday. And we look forward to celebrating better days together in the future.

Our hearts ache every time we lose friends and family way too soon. COVID-19 has taken so many lives away too quickly. We mourn the loss of our kasama, our dear friend, Milady Sy Quito. She had a deep love for her community. Milady, our hearts break knowing we won’t have another chance to see you again at the shop. We are grateful to have met and learned from you doing community work and have been blessed to have your love and support to help us open our doors here on Temple Street. We love you, sister. #

We exist as a space in this neighborhood because of our ties to community organizing in Los Angeles. Without the time and energy of organizers and activists who grounded us in comprehending the potency of developing and sustaining community as youth, The Park’s Finest would not be what it is. Since March 15, 2020, no one has been able to enjoy Ann’s Cornbread Bibingka and a Worker Wednesday Combo Plate with a P-Town Boxing Club. Both @thunderboltla and @theparksfinest teams have worked diligently, separately, and safely in their respective spots on the block. It has not been easy trying to survive this global health crisis while traversing a nation that needs radical transformation in order to meet the people’s basic needs and to safeguard their well-being. We mi...ss our community and feel deep sadness with all the struggles people are facing individually and collectively. For one Tuesday afternoon, we want to serve our people together. On Tuesday, October 6th, it’ll be a @thunderboltla x @theparksfinest Pop-Up featuring a special P-Town Boxing Club, Ann’s Cornbread Bibingka, and the People’s Plate available for patio dining, to-go, or delivery over at @thunderboltla. It is with great honor to say we have now fed over 20,000 Frontliners and Fire Fighters. We cannot thank the community for entrusting us with this task. The care our city’s healthcare workers and supporting personnel is nonstop. So we stay on the grind to help their days run a little smoother with a meal made from the heart....
