Have you met the newest member of our team this year? . ! Dr. Chin earned both her Bachelor’s in Integrative Biology and Doctorate of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley. Her clinical training included rotations through Eastmont Wellness Center, Marin Community Clinic, and American Lake VA in Lakewood, Washington. She served in medical missions trips in Nicaragua and graduated with honors from the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.... Following optometry school, Dr. Chin completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease with the Veterans Affairs Portland Health Care System in Salem, Oregon. During residency, she worked with a high volume of primarily geriatric patients, treating and managing a variety of complex and advanced ocular disease, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, and diabetic retinopathy. Her residency also included training in urgent eye care management and low vision rehabilitation. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and is passionate about providing the highest quality of vision care. Dr. Chin recently moved back home to the Bay Area and lives with her husband in the East Bay. They enjoy spending time hiking, backpacking, cooking, and trying new restaurants. Congratulations Bunnaree! Bunnaree is celebrating 2 years with the Optometric Center & Eyewear Galleria this month! You can find Bunny in the Galleria working on finding the perfect pair of glasses for you! We absolutely love working with her, and want to congratulate her on her anniversary.

Congratulations Laura! Laura celebrated 21 years with the Optometric Center & Eyewear Galleria last month. It is such a pleasure to have Laura with us. She has seen this practice grow and has helped so many of you with your experience here. We asked Laura to share a few words about her time at the office, this is what she had to say. "Over the last 21 years, I have seen many changes and a lot of growth. When I first started, the office was The Optometric Center of San Ra...mon, we had 4 staff members and were using dial up internet. Lasik was recently FDA approved and becoming popular. Dr. Johnson was amazing to work for and always encouraged learning. We always had an awesome staff! Now, 21 years later, we have 12 staff members and until Dr. Johnson’s much deserved retirement this week, 3 doctors. I cannot imagine working anywhere else. I feel very fortunate to work with Dr. Duong, Dr. Chin, and an incredible team!" See more

Today Kaitlin celebrates 16 years with the Optometric Center & Eyewear Galleria! This is a testament of our office not just being a workplace but also being a second family. She started at the young age of 16 and has since welcomed all 4 of her children while working here. Fun fact: did you know that Dr. Johnson is her grandfather? As he retires, and she celebrates 16 years here what she has to say: "Thank you all for being the most wonderful patients, providing the best ye...ars of my grandfathers work life, and allowing me to enjoy everyday at this office. I will always cherish the days working beside my Papa, and I love the doctors that I get to work beside now! I am grateful to be here, and I look forward to rest of my days.
