Our specialty selection of native bulbs is better than ever this year! We’ve been hard at work all summer, sifting and sorting our sustainably cultivated bulbs with care, so that we can unveil some exciting and hard-to-find offerings at the Fall Plant Sale.TPF’s bulb program cultivates and conserves California native geophytes. The word ‘geophyte’ translates to ‘earth plant’ from its Greek and Latin roots. These amazing plants lie dormant underground during the hot dry summe...r months, with leaves emerging with the rains and blooms appearing in the spring. Scroll through the pictures for some of our featured species! Love these? Get them while they last at our socially distant fall plant sale, happening the first three weeks of November! Root root root for the home team! We’ve been supplying native plants to the Dodgers amazing landscape crew (super exciting things happening there!) A few members of our team had one of those childhood dream moments this summer during a delivery and stadium tour. #goblue #dodgers #losangeles

Do you think spiders are scary? Or beautiful? Or both? Here’s a female California trapdoor spider which was unintentionally uncovered during some path work at a garden in urban Los Angeles. TPF is celebrating Halloween this Saturday by offering a free packet of California poppy seeds, and candy to anyone wearing a costume. Our favorite costume of the day will receive a $50 gift certificate. We’ll have a photo area set up to get into the fall spirit, native plant style. Bring ...the family and bring on the costumes! To attend, register on our Eventbrite page for a shopping slot (bit.ly/spooky-natives) and select the date October 31. You only need to make one registration per family. ..#theodorepayne #wildflowers #californiatrapdoor #halloween #californiapoppy #californiawildflowers #sustainability #nativeplants #nursery #coolplants #spider
