Hello friends, You may have seen the clown in our window crying purple tiers (get it?), which means we are going to be CLOSED until December 6th! We feel community is most important during this time and we’re dedicated to finding ways to make sure everyone is safe while still having creative outlets and providing a sense of family and belonging. In case you haven’t heard our story by chatting up one of our many owners or reading our mission statement on our website, we Te...mplateers are just a rag tag crew of artists and entrepreneurs, just like many of you. We are a team of resilient clowns tackling rules and roles we’ve never been positioned to before. United by a common dream we’ve had for many years: Creating a hub for art, community and raw expression. Of course, we, along with everyone else, didn’t foresee the unprecedented challenges that would lay before us with a global pandemic. One of which was that our entire business model was based around gathering people together and sharing experiences .....so here we find ourselves, in the golden year of 2020, trying to find a way to make it happen. Luckily this community of creatives has unlimited ideas. We all believe whole heartedly in this project and we aren’t going to sit idle during this closure, it’s against our nature! With this time we’re going to finish the creative vision of the backyard and the garage workshop/photo/video/audio recording room. Once we open back up we’ll be here for the community as much as we possibly can. And The Template needs the community to show up and support, collaborate, create, educate and dance as much as possible too! This space is built for our community, let’s make this project happen together We will follow up with another post to let you know how you can get involved, until then, peace, love and pogo sticks

Examining Bias Workshop tomorrow at 4pm! 2020 has been such a ride. In the middle of a pandemic, social change, and opening a business, we are so thrilled we have such a great community to support each other. We wish to keep a safe space for everybody and we feel it’s important to keep asking ourselves the hard questions and having these conversations. Transformation can happen amongst community and growth is not always comfortable but it is vital. Examining Bias: Unpacking ...Your Privilege This session will facilitate the exploration of the participant’s role in bias and builda greater awareness of participant’s privilege based on identity and perceived identity. Awaken a deeper understanding of how to actively work towards equity in your personal and professional life. We will cultivate a meaningful awareness of our own bias, prejudice, and stereotypes, and seek to unpack these through reflection and action with a goal of working towards personal growth and transformation.
