What must my parents have thought when their daughter said she was traveling to Asia immediately after the 2002 tsunami to serve with a medical team? Or, how did God comfort my parents' hearts when I told them that the surgeon had just told me and my finance' that we would not be able to have children? When I look back, these types of experiences were game changers for me. They helped me find the voice of God and see His hand at work in the midst of tragedy and pain. I ...experienced God's powerful presence in my life. But, as a parent of such child, it must have been hard. It wasn't easy, but my parents gave me the freedom to follow where I thought God was leading, and they gave God room to work in my life. How will I respond when my children ask the same of me? Woah!
