Posted @withregram @foodxinsomniacs Cuffing season? More like slurping season Kashiwa Ramen (Costa Mesa) Spicy Black Garlic Tonkotsu, Chicken Karaage, Gyozas ... The weather really be switching up on me like my past lovers and friends where in the world did the cold come from? This is the only season where I constantly crave soups and as you can tell, we love our ramen here. The ramen from Kashiwa is no exception! It’s literally award winning! They’ve won the title of best ramen in OC in 2019 and are in the Top 75 restaurants in OC as of 2020! The ramen is simple yet full of flavor and depth and will warm you up just as well if not better than someone giving you a hug. What more can you ask for?! What really surprised me was their appetizers. The chicken and gyozas were so crispy and were the perfect starter to get warmed up for the ramen. The dipping sauces added the right amount of seasoning and I highly recommend it even though I’m usually not the type to order appetizers for myself. The ramen was extremely customizable which I loved. You get your choice of ramen broth whether it be miso, spicy miso, tonkotsu, chicken broth, etc. then you move on to your noodle texture, protein, and toppings! I always love being able to choose exactly what goes into my food which is why I love cooking. It’s so great to be able to change it up and keeps you coming back. I have to thank the folks @kashiwaramen for being so kind and allowing us to try their award winning ramen. Kashiwa Ramen specializes in a unique chicken based ramen. If it’s your first time, I suggest you try their signature Chicken Paitan Ramen. The broth ...is so rich, creamy and umami packed from simmering all the bones for hours on end until they end up with a delicious, collagen packed broth. They also have a spicy version if you like your ramen with some kick. Besides their Chicken Paitan Ramen, some of my other favorites are their Matcha Tsukemen and Spicy Cold Shoyu Ramen with Kashiwa signature noodles (perfect for those hot days!). Their Kombu Ramen is also refreshing yet packed with flavor, and is very popular with their Vegan customers. I also want to try out their White Tonkotsu Ramen, but they only serve 55 bowls a day, so it’s first come first served and I have yet to be one of those first.. The white miso Tonkotsu has been my fav but they only have a limited amount per day I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and you really can’t go wrong here Food is excellent, service is great, no long wait times, and plenty of parking.
