Seeking good quality used bikes. If you have been looking at your garage and see unused bikes, or ones the kids have outgrown, let us know. With the shortage of bikes continuing on we are looking for bikes that we can refurbish and resell. Bikes should be shop quality and in reasonable shape, and you would have been the original owner or know who was. If you have something let us know. You can email a photo over to [email protected]. We will consider consignment or tra...de for parts or service. Thanks and Happy Holidays

Holiday Greetings! We are still open curbside Wed-Sunday 12-6. Stock is starting to get a little better, but we are still struggling to get bikes. We can offer gift certificates for Christmas gift ideas, which can be used towards parts or labor. SEEKING BIKES... With the ongoing bike shortage we are looking for good quality used bikes to refurbish and sell for the coming months. Do you have any extra bikes that you'd like to trade for store credit or consignment? If so, please send us a photo via email [email protected] and we can see if it would be a good fit. They should be shop quality bikes, and original owners or can trace ownership. All the best to you and yours, stay safe, hang in there.

Well this isn’t pretty. I started saving these packing materials at the beginning of summer. They are used on our incoming orders. They say Earth Aware, but really? I thought maybe someone else can use them? Anyone know of a way to reuse these? Or want them for something that they do? I am going to try to opt out of these. Ideas welcomed.

Oh the great outdoors! Here we are during happy times riding the Flume Trail. Its been a summer of lots of riding for many, and hoping to ride for others, between the Pandemic, and the disastrous fires, oh boy, a difficult year for all. Let's hope new news of progress with a vaccine moves forward and enough people will get it to ease things up for us all. We are still hanging in there, open curbside Wed-Sunday 12-6. Parts and bikes continue to be a challenge to get, but thing...s are starting to look more promising. While our service schedule has been extremely busy since March, we are starting to be able to promise better turn around times for you and also always offer quick turn around appointments. We hope you are all staying healthy and getting out between all the crazy stuff.

We all look forward to more blue skies, riding our bikes, seeing people we enjoy, and doing all the things we love. So much loss for all right now. We are here for pick ups, drop offs and other needs today and Saturday 12-6, we will then be closed from Sunday the 13th to September 23rd. Availability of parts is supposed to gradually improve moving into October. Fingers crossed.... Stay safe out there. Chaz and Claire

2020. The year of service at the bike shop. Since March when the pandemic took hold, people have taken to their bikes to stay healthy, and sane, and to get outdoors. Ongoing widespread stock shortages of everything bicycle related proved challenging. But we came in and tackled the double workload each day, having hundreds of bikes continuously lined up. It helped us keep our doors open, and surely kept us out of trouble. It’s felt like a much needed year of service to the community, for many this was what has kept them sane. We are starting to see the slow down of fall, but suspect we will still be quite busy through the winter months as we eagerly await new bicycles and parts and a vaccine. Thanks for your support. Our house survived the recent blazes, we sure are thankful to the hard work of the many firefighters who worked day and night to contain the inferno and managed to save our water treatment plant for Sonoma County and also our beloved Armstrong Woods. Its been another blow to our love of the outdoors here in Sonoma County, and many of our neighboring areas too. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. As far as the bike bu...siness goes, its tough. Supply continues to be very difficult and we cannot get many of the needed parts for repairs, and new bicycles still seem a little way out there from our suppliers, who are struggling with the challenges of production and shipping in a time where every part of our supply chain is drastically affected. Something as simple as a tube or a derailleur cable can be impossible to find, three main suppliers this morning are out of both. We continue to run our modified hours of 12-6 Wed-Sunday, reserving early mornings to do our service and ordering. We are taking appointments for larger jobs, and although the schedule is getting a little less frantic, we are still scheduling about a month out. We are trying to fit smaller jobs in during the week as we can. We are still operating with curbside service and cannot always get to our phones, please leave a message if you need to speak with us, and we will call you back. You can also email us at [email protected] We see many of our local favorite businesses struggling amidst the grind of this Pandemic and now is the time more than ever to push back from that computer and spend your money locally if you want to see any semblance of the community infrastructure that you have known in the past.

While we are not big fans of public review sites, which can lead to random attacks from people who are not "customers" but rather strangers to a business. Every single negative review that we have is from people who have never actually spent a penny in our store, some seem a bit off the deep end, and others are not even about our store, but about other Hub Cyclerys. But, once in a while you get these gems that make you feel all warm and fuzzy and prop you up for another day o...f work. Thanks Roger. We really appreciate you taking this time to write something so kind and fun to read. Hopefully it does not get flagged, when someone wrote a rap song for our business once, it was taken down as they said we had somehow manipulated it. This is a, "Wonderful", "Mom & Pop's" establishment with a, "Green-Protected Earth" Charm & Professional EXPERIENCE that teams together to make Your Life filled with entertainment in the joys of, "Riding" This, "Duo" has cycles for all ages & a full repair shop for... A big shout out to our wonderful bike shop friends @hylandbikes for showing us some love today. In a time where bike parts are near impossible to get, they sent us some much needed tubes!! We have collaborated on other great projects too, like when we worked together to deliver over 100 refurbished bikes to people who’d lost their homes in the Tubbs fire. Acts of kindness at times like this keep you going. We thank you @hylandbikes #kindness #bicycles #bikeshop

A gigantic shout out and thank you to Hop Monk, Sebastopol for providing meals to evacuees this morning between 8:30-11am. It will help us power through our workday a little easier. Way to support your community!! Don't you just love local businesses? This is an example of how they give back.

The Hub Cyclery 22.08.2020

We are currently evacuees and the fire is few miles from our home.... If you know an evacuee, keep in mind we are stressed and dealing with daily life and work, while worrying about our home, surroundings and neighbors. We don't have our beds, or many of our clothes, a place to cook, we have our pets with us. If you can, offer a meal, a cup of coffee, a place to stay to those that you know. Remember it's hard for us to focus on much else right now. Even if it is not accepted it means a great deal to be cared for at this time. Its a support system for us when our nervous system is on high alert. We have had a few dear freinds offer places to stay, and thank you to those of you who have reached out. We are doing our best at the bike shop right now, and are still very busy. Please be kind and patient.

The Hub Cyclery 18.08.2020

We are in the process of evacuating our home, as many others are. We are extremely busy at this time at the bike shop as well. If you have a service in the store we are going to do our best, and plan to be there at some point today, but this is not going to make our existing backlog any better. Stay safe.

Hello out there. All of us are affected in many different ways during this Pandemic; and as many of you know the bike industry has been hit with unprecedented demand, followed by unprecedented parts and bike shortages. It has made the headlines of some pretty heady papers a number of times. Each week, I have to bear the bad news to dozens upon dozens of people that we do not have bikes, tires, tubes; items we have never run out of, and never expected to. We find ourselves ...scrambling to get the most basic of parts to do repairs, patching rather than replacing tubes, and have a backlog in the hundreds of items for parts we never thought we would see go out of stock. Oftentimes my news is met with looks of disbelief, and I am asked what other shop may have something. As if maybe its just us, The Hub Cyclery, that is out of stock on items. Its hard for us to believe, when we have lived in the land of plenty, that we can't find what we need and want easily. I try to explain the global nature of this problem, but this article about one of the brands that we partner with, Giant Bicycles, tells the story better than I can. An industry upended by trade wars, tariffs, and a Pandemic that drove more people to bikes than the gas crises, or the simple need to do something healthy. When will we see bikes and parts start to replenish? There is some hope for September, which would be nice so that we can help people in the way we are used to, and so that we don't have to see so many disappointed faces. https://www.nytimes.com//giant-bikes-coronavirus-shortage.
