The Hidden Gem

The Hidden Gem will be down at the Nipomo Rock & Gem Show this weekend, with over 1000 pounds of slabs and lapidary rough, unusual mineral specimens and many gift and home decor items. This fine annual Show runs Friday & Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Sunday hours are 10am to 4pm. We hope to see you there!

Good morning, Geo-enthusiasts! I'm back at the Hidden Gem at the San Jose flea market with my friends, Tilley Gem. We're enjoying another weekend of sharing rocks with our friends, new & old. This week, I'm about halfway through sorting 850 pounds of slabs from all over the world. Here's some of almost 15 pounds of Crazy Lace slabs from the collection, in all sorts of colors. It's a bright, sunshiny Saturday afternoon here at The Hidden Gem, in the San Jose flea market. This is my second weekend here, and I brought out hundreds of pounds of great rough rock to show (and sell! ;) ) our rock loving friends. New this week is over 85 pounds of old collection Tiffany stone rough & slabs. This 96 gram, 4" x 2.5" x 6.5 mm slab is only $48 + $2.60 USPS shipping. I'm off today to pick up new rough rock for The Hidden Gem, at the San Jose Flea Market. My first weekend at The Hidden Gem with the Tilley family was a great success! :D Our location, right off Produce Row at #305 5th St. in the San Jose Flea Market, is a busy one. Several Facebook friends (good to see you, Tommy, Cathy & Christy! :) ) stayed for a loooooong happy visit with our 850+ pounds of old collection slabs. I'd only opened a few of the 20+ boxes before bringing them there, and had the pleasure of sharing the first look with our friends. It was Christmas ...in July! :D This week, I'm bringing up hundreds of pounds of great lapidary rough, from worldwide locations. Much is rock I've mined, but there'll be some old collection "unobtainium," rock you just can't get anymore. ;) This variscite is just one of the unusual slabs I have up there.
