For today’s Alumni owned Business Feature I would like to Spotlight Alumni Amarleono G. Burnett!! Amarleono, after attending culinary school in Washington DC, c...ame to California and graduated from La Sierra University in 2011 with his B.A and was very involved as a Project Leader in SIFE (ENACTUS). His project, a full service coffee shop called The Spot, was entirely staffed by University students. Amarleono started a business called The Gourmet Guy Catering which has been running successfully for 13 years now. During the pandemic, after being furloughed from his full time job Amarleono catered a wedding and, in making a dessert for that occasion came up with the idea for Pushing PIES. Pushing PIES is based in Riverside and offers curb-side pickup in both Riverside and Menifee (delivery available for a fee). Pushing PIES offers a variety of pies and cobblers, from apple to pumpkin to banana cream! They do offer vegan pies and specialty pies upon request! I for one cannot wait to place an order.
