UPDATE - BOND is running out of time ! Please share! Hello... Bond - James Bond. #A0957261 Like the actor, I am smooth, suave and debonair. ... I came into the shelter as a stray, lost dog. My demeanor is calm, sweet and nice. I am attentive and listen well and have a handsome face. I am approximately 8 yrs old and a Great Dane/Hound Mix. I met some other dogs and was "cool" with them. My status is in Need T. ( I need a transfer partner/Rescue group to pull me out). Below is my video - check it out! You will see how I sit nicely and shake my paw "Nice to meet you!". https://youtu.be/X0qxJ_xjAeI Bond is in Need T. He came to the shelter as a lost dog. He is on the thin side and really needs a friend/family to give him the love, treats and happiness every dog deserves. Please reach out to Contra Costa Animal Services at 925-608-8400 for more information. Rescues only please email Nancy Rhee at [email protected] or Christina Kim [email protected]

More pictures and a new video of "Dream"! Please help "Dream". She is a 2 yr old Female. #A0954444 Her breed mix is a Lab Pei. A mix of Lab and Chinese Shar Pei. *Dream" is doing much better and is so sweet, engaging and playful. A new video:... https://youtu.be/9I6jSOwbcMQ She is available to Rescue only but if someone is interested in her, they can do a foster-to-adopt situation with a Rescue group. "Owner came in to surrender this dog due to landlord eviction. She advised that dog is very friendly, gets along with all people - children, adults and women. She can be scared of men and fireworks. She advised that she is a little scared sometimes due to previous abuse but is very friendly. She was very sad to have to surrendered this dog. She advised that dog has had no formal training and pulls on leash. She advised that dog gets along with other dogs and plays with them at the park. She advised this dog is good with cats. Owner' grandson, age 9, stated that dog cuddles with him and his brother, age 13, on the couch and in their bed and is a very special dog to him because she is very sweet. " She is currently stuck in the shelter, Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez, CA. She needs rescue ASAP before her time runs out. We googled her breed mix and below is what we found: Lab Pei Basics The sweet, rumple-faced Lab Pei makes a wonderful addition to any family as they get along well with children and other pets. While they are protective, they are not aggressive and would lean more towards a warning bark to strangers, rather than a lunge. Their Labrador Retriever and Chinese Shar-Pei lineage makes for a loving, intelligent dog that is easy to train and keen-to-please his owner. While they are not demanding, they do thrive on human attention and love to be involved in any family activity. Here is her video. You can see how overwhelmed and frightened she is in the shelter. Smiling Our Way into National Pit Bull Awareness Day Sat 10/24! A big beautiful smile and an incredible personality. Sounds like your dream partner, right? Well, adopting a pit bull could make your dreams come true! This Saturday, October 24, is National Pit Bull Awareness Day and we are celebrating with big smiles as we remind ourselves what great pets pit bulls make! Just like other dogs, pit bulls are highly intelligent, can be easy to train and can be great with children... it all depends on who you meet at a shelter or rescue. Plus, a big sloppy pittie kiss or ear-to-ear smile can turn around even the gloomiest days. Though these dogs have faced unfair stereotypes and severe misconceptions, we know just how incredible they can be. FB friends share your Pitties smiling!

UPDATE 10/22/2020 RESCUED Hi- My name is NOVA. I am a 6 yr old male Bulldog. #A0957299. Sadly, my owners surrendered me. I guess they never realized how important it is for a dog to have a home, a loving home where you are part of the pack aka inside and loved by your people. My owner said the landlord didn't want me living in the home so why I was taken to the shelter. I never did any harm so I don't understand why I was taken away from my home.... I was kept in a crate during much of the day and then at night kept in the garage. What kind of life is that!?? Why have a dog I say??!! My world has gone from bad to worse. I am now at the shelter not knowing really where I am or what I did to deserve this. I am getting to know the staff a little better and come out of my shyness but I really need YOUR HELP to do that! Can you please be that someone to take me home and truly love me? Let me watch tv with you, give me pets, attention and affection and some walks to see the outside world? I would be so forever grateful! Did you know the name "Nova" means "new". Perhaps YOU can be my NEW owner and show me the love and attention I have missed out on for soooo long. Love, your shining star wanna be - Nova. https://youtu.be/60yTfDNVd7M If anyone can foster him, we can refer you to a rescue group or you can contact your local rescue groups Please contact Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez 925-608-8400

UPDATE-RESCUED Help us promote and save sweet sweet Odessa! #A0956424 This female German Shepherd is approximately 10 yrs young and came in as a stray. Odessa has been at the shelter since 09/21. ... She is severely neglected as you can tell by her coat, alopecia (hair loss) and her growth that needs to obviously be removed. She is non-reactive to other dogs. Odessa knows "sit" and gently takes treats from your hand. She wags her tails and is oh so friendly despite her neglect. Hi...my name is SNICKERS. I am 2 yrs old. My Brindle markings are like the scrumptious candy bar. I'd like to think that I am scrumptious too! However, I am very overwhelmed in the shelter with the loud noises. I just got tutored er um neutered that is why the "cone of shame" is on me. I still managed a smile though! I just need some quiet time, patience, and love and I will be that darling delicious eye candy of a dog I am. My video is below. I am a little self conscious ...of them taking pictures of me right now but did my best to look good. https://youtu.be/3BiDne6Ei-Y #A0956032 Contact Contra Costa Animal Services Martinez CA 925-608-8400

Meet Tanner! He is a 3 yr old Bulldog mix. This adorable guy came into the shelter with an abscess on his face and was treated for it. He was very nervous and fearful and shaking in the exam room. Poor guy is completely overwhelmed being at the shelter. Once in a stable home environment and full of love and reassurance, he should really blossom! His video below just makes you want to give him the biggest hug and just comfort him. ... https://youtu.be/CMqz9sJC6lM He is available to rescue groups only - due to being timid. Rescue groups can email [email protected] and [email protected] or call 925-608-8400. His ID #A0956030 Contra Costa Animal Services 925-608-8400 Martinez CA

Miss Daisy Mae wanted to say hello to all our supporters! We are happy to report she is doing well and receiving the best medical care since we rescued her. Her medical care was made possible because of all the caring people who have donated to FOCCAS. She is a senior approximately 15 years old now. Daisy Mae came to the shelter as a lost dog, most likely dumped somewhere. Can you believe her before picture? Someone never groomed her. She now is well groomed and we can see ...her beautiful face. Since we rescued her, she has received the best medical care from Ygnacio Animal Hospital. Daisy Mae has Kidney disease and Cushing's disease which can be a condition that older dogs get. Daisy Mae is very lucky to have as her foster moms Ashley and her mother Gina who is a Nurse. Gina's wonderful family is giving Daisy Mae her daily meds and keeping a close eye on her medical needs. Daisy Mae is now a very happy girl! She has never felt so much love in her life! Thank you all for your continued support to FOCCAS. Hugs and Kisses from Daisy Mae!!!

This year is very unusual and many different things are happening now. We have to stay inside more, which can be stressful for many of us. It is important to have a good support group. Show us your group.
