The last class from the potato, turned in the keys earlier today. In the process of cleaning up the last few things from the attic I found several mascots we had used for our mascot race back 2013. Another Shelter In Place, another adjustment. We are moving the Ugly Sweater workout online. We know everyone owns an ugly sweater. We will continue to adapt and adjust to keep going. This Caption has been coming up in my feed a lot the last couple of days. I completely believe in signs and every time I look at this I smile. Feel very grateful to have so much in my life. I remember being that kid, collecting cans before and after school, running from trash can to trash. It became a game with my siblings of how fast we could go around town and fill up our bags. I guess that’s why running came easier later in life. I remember walking to recycling center with... mom to sell the cans, felt so proud to be able to give mom some money for rent or food. In many ways, this and many other experiences I lived as a child prepared me for times of uncertainty like today. Feel blessed to have so much abundance and opportunity. This month I close The FIT Potato, turn in the keys and reflect on all the great memories, experiences and great people I met along the way that gave me hope and inspiration to do more. You can allow fear, uncertainty and Change to prevent you from growing or you can face it head on and use that energy to reflect, dig deep and come out stronger. Our Thankful Workout/ Run has changed over the years. When we started 2020, we never imagined that it would be both virtual & outside. So thankful that this time has made our community stronger and that we have such amazing clients. Thank you for supporting out small business! We would not have been able to continue to do what we love without you.
Every year around this time I am working on the finishing touches to the Annual Christmas Mile, a time when everyone comes together to celebrate the season. We dress up in silly costumes, we takes lots of pics, we laugh, we eat, we drink, we are thankful to be alive and healthy one more year. Lots of things are canceled due to Covid and other things happening around the world but FUN, LAUGHTER and CELEBRATION are not. It’s going to look and be different but we have to keep moving forward. Excited for our Christmas Scavenger Hunt Run.

This week we are focusing on Hips & Core. Hip and core strength is important to prevent common running injuries such as IT Band pain, runner’s knee, piriformis issues, sciatica, and more. Time for a stretch break! Sitting in front of a computer every day can wreak havoc on your body, especially since most of us don't have the ideal ergonomic set-up, and stay in the same position for hours at a time. This lack of variation, along with hunching the shoulders and an uncomfortable chair, can cause back pain, headaches, tension, and tightness in your back, neck, and shoulders. This morning while I was on my run I saw a Hawk resting on a fence for a few minutes before continuing to hunt. Felt blessed to have the opportunity to see him so close.
