I’m entirely humbled and overflowing with gratitude, excitement, and FIRE after competing in my FIRST body building competition at the San Diego Championships @musclecontest representing my incredible coaches @maineevent and @eeddddnnnaa_mode and the fit fam @team_jcreation I would have NEVER EVER thought to participate or compete in arena of health and competition like this but I am SO HAPPY I got out of own way and turned my negative self talk into uplifting, positivity, coaching self love. I am eager to keep this fire burning STRONG and being my best self. My body is my first home, and I am learning to love, care, and listen/challenge it to the next level. Huge congratulations to @jonathan__velasco on his school selection to join Wake Forest and accept his athletic scholarship for cross country! . Jonathan’s story is amazing. Prior to the start of his final high school athletic career he was ranked 600th in the country. He came to us to get his VO2 Max measured to better understand his training zone intensities. His VO2 Max was incredible and with smarter training and determination he finished the season as the top 20th runner ...in the country. He went from hoping to run for a junior college to getting a full ride to a D1. . Understanding your bio markers are so fundamentally important to prevent over training and improve performance. What is the RMR Test? Testing your individual RMR measures your unique personal daily caloric requirements. It will give you a snapshot of where you and your body are today, in terms of how your body burns fuel when it is at rest and when it is exercising. In other words, it is important deciphering the daily number of calories you need to lose, maintain or gain weight as desired. Your RMR changes with weight loss/gain, athletic training cycles and changes in muscle mass. Traditional Metabolic Rate Formula estimates can be off by as much as 500 calories per day, the amount of calories it takes to gain or lose a pound per week!
