Another one of our lovely pups has crossed the rainbow bridge. Atticus was Scout's brother (Golden Retriever). For 7 years Atticus was a big part of our family and the news of his passing hit us hard. May he run free and join all the other pups waiting for him! https://youtu.be/dF8Gv-Vp-5M Jeff Smith, Nathalie Mosbach Smith,

Are you interested in hiking with your dog but don't know where to start? Want to be better prepared on the trails. This workshop may be for you. *All proceeds (including our pay) from this clinic will be donated to animal organizations involved in the recent wildfires. https://www.townandcountrydtc.org/p/dogs-gone-hiking-dec-5/

We are not providing our hiking services anymore but there are a few great alternatives. https://www.facebook.com/BenjisBackyard/ being one of them. Cosmo has found new hiking buddies and enjoys off-leash adventures.

Academy grads like Kelly Lee of Dogkind LLC work hard to ensure that the critical period of puppyhood is a positive experience which provides lots of padding an...d learning opportunities. "During the very brief window between 3 and 12-14 weeks of age, puppies can learn that the world is safe, or unsafe, much more easily than is possible later in life. As I tell my puppy class clients and puppy socialization interns, an ounce of prevention really is worth a pound of cure. When it comes to puppies liking strangers, for example, an ounce of prevention translates as a few weeks of introducing puppies to new people in a positive way. A pound of cure? Months or years of work to try to help a fearful adult dog become a little more comfortable with strangers." We're thrilled to share this guest blog which is full of necessary information, citations from existing research, as well as links to good places to find out more about the importance of *good* puppy socialization.
