I want to get stronger and more toned I’m not really overweight, I just wish my body was tighter and I had more definition I hate repetitive workouts... so I like to switch things up to confuse my muscles I hear this quite frequently Maybe your goal isn’t to lose weight specifically If you’re at a normal weight but you’re still not satisfied with how you look in the mirror is going to be your go-to if you want to get that ‘toned’ look More importantly it’s you strength train You’re going to be spinning your wheels if you: Just do isolation movements (bicep curls, triceps kick backs, shoulder raises) Use a light weight and do 25+ reps constantly switch up the exercises When it comes to building strength, you can’t confuse your muscle , Your muscle needs to be familiarized with an exercise And then get better at that specific motion How can you get better? By adding a more challenging weight By adding a few more challenging reps / sets This principle is called progressive overload And it’s how your muscles get stronger If you’re constantly changing up the exercise your muscle has to be re-familiarized with the new motion before it can get better , , You need to: focus on compound movements and get stronger (variations of chest press, rows, leg presses) use a challenging enough weight so the last 1-3 reps are hard, and stick to the 6-15 rep range pick one exercise for a muscle group and familiarize yourself with it so you can make progress over time If you can stick to those principles you will see a massive difference in your body composition over time Side note: you don’t HAVE to do free bench press, squats, or deadlifts to get stronger Any safer variations of these movements can be done on machines and still allow you to get stronger and get tighter/toned (I actually don’t do squats or deadlifts due to frequent injuries) #flexibledieting #intermittentfasting #sixpack #abs #weightloss #iifym #if #flexibledieting #moderation #leanlife #leangains #ifitfitsyourmacros #core #ripped #fatloss #fitspo #goals #lifestyle #fitguys See more

Having trouble with weight loss??? Have you ever considered intermittent fasting??? First and foremost you should always consult with your physician before you try any type of diet plan as everything isn’t for everyone. Although I’m not trying to necessarily lose weight I am in the constant pursuit of trying to lose and/or maintain a low body fat, keeping muscle gains and most importantly feeling healthy and losing the bloat.
