The Broadway Bar

Current update, and thank you to my friend Craig, the General Manager at Falcon and Eagle 562 who has been amazing at working together with me. As of right now, if you guys did or did not see the current briefing by Mayor Garcia, Los Angeles County has actually declared that no bars will be to open as of this Friday. The only type of bars to open up once again have to serve food. With that said, we will not be opening either Sweet Water or the Broadway Cocktail Lounge to mak...e sure we follow safety and rules. This was all officially announced as of today. Yes, other counties have been opening up, but L.A. County is a much more populated area and the smaller counties lets say up in Northern County have seen a lower case of the Covid-19. As I stated before, we are working hard on staying up to date with the daily changes, but are also once again looking out for everyones safety. Please continue to be safe and lets not continue to give this virus a boost in our county, thats the only key to make sure your favorite watering holes will be opening up. Until we hear about anything that may change, we will continue to keep you all informed. -Miguel Betancourt

Many have been text messaging me ever since Newsom announced that bars are being allowed to open as of Friday. However, we still have not heard about the fine guidelines and restrictions we have to abide by the city of Long Beach. Nothing has been published yet and we hope to hear that tomorrow. We need to abide by the rules that are being set, not only for the sake of our bars, but also for the safety of our patrons and our employees. I’ve been avidly checking with the city... for any updates and also keeping in touch with our other bar manager friends on the Boulevard just to make sure we are kept informed and playing it safe. Once I gain more information as to what we receive, I will keep everyone informed. For the time being, do not hold your breath as far as Broadway and Sweet Water go for this Friday. As of today, we are officially shut down at both the Sweet Water Saloon and the Broadway Cocktail Lounge. Breaks my heart to have to announce this, but due to this pandemic, we have to do this to look out for the safety of our patrons, and our employees. We shall keep everyone updated as far as what will go on. Thank you everyone, and please be safe. -Miguel Betancourt

PSA: Until further notice, we will still remain open unless otherwise stated. The Broadway Cocktail Lounge and Sweet Water Saloon will remain opened until we receive any notification that we will have to close down. For the safety of our staff and customers, please make sure if you feel any sort of symptoms even if it relates to a slight cold to please remain at home and not be exposed to our clientele, or most importantly to what is widely exposed, our staff. Until further notice, I will update you all as I keep up with the notifications I am informed of.
