The Bike Hut

We had hoped to reopen the Bike Hut at the beginning of March but will not be able to. We are eager to re-open, though, and will do so as soon as it is safe! Please spread the word to your networks, and we are sorry for any confusion. We'll continue to have water and offer a pit stop for now. In other news, we have ordered the Dero Fixit station - the main unit plus an Air Kit 4 (stand-alone pump with integrated wheel holder and pressure gauge) and will post updates as we ha...ve them. It should take about 6 - 8 weeks for the Dero to arrive from Florida. We're also putting in a new coffee maker and putting lots of thought and love into making the Bike Hut space even better. Dear Bike Hut Fans, From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for helping us reach our fundraising goal!! In case you haven't heard, the Bike Hut Classic was extended through Tuesday, September 22. This DIY fundraiser ride through epic redwood forest has been a blast to organize and bring to life. The Bike Hut Classic's 1st annual fundraiser ride for Abundant Grace is off and running! We have 199 registered riders. Who wants to be the 200th?! Four days and counting until the Bike Hut Classic fundraiser ride begins! As of today we have 150 people registered to complete this DIY ride, which begins September 1 and benefits Abundant Grace Coastside Worker. We would love to register 50 more people this weekend to hit 200 riders! We have been heartbroken by the recent fires and the impact on people and wild places nearby. As you likely know, the fires are being contained more every day. However, we would like to give... folks more flexibility to complete the ride and are therefore extending the DIY ride window through Sunday, September 20. We will still host the ride reception on Saturday, September 26 with raffle prizes, T-shirt distribution and prizes for category winners. With less than 3 weeks to go before the Bike Hut Classic begins, you still have time to register and join in the fun! Since announcing this DIY fundraiser ride a few weeks ago, we've received an outpouring of support from the cycling community. More than 100 riders have signed up! Bike Hut managers in search of 2 gravel bikes and toddler seat... Bike Hut managers Jay & Suzie are looking to buy bikes! After sitting on the sidelines for the last 10 years watching you folks have all the fun, we've decided to buy bikes of our own. Do you have a bike hanging in your garage to sell, or can you refer us somewhere to get a good deal on a new bike? We are looking for 2 bikes: one for Suzie (5’ 3) and one for Jay (6’ 3). We have a specific interest in getting ...gravel bikes that we could use for light touring and for riding the hills and backroads that leave the farm. We have our eye on models like the Cannondale Topstone Alloy 105 or the Specialized Sequoia Elite. Does anyone know where we can get a good deal on one of these? Similar bikes like Surlys or other equivalent models might work as well. We are hoping to find a bike with disc brakes and STI shifters. We are also looking for a modern child seat for our 2 1/2 year old son (30#). If you think you might have a bike or child seat that would work for us or you can refer us somewhere, please let us know. We would rather buy from someone in the Bike Hut community whom we know we can trust before wading into craigslist & other places. The Bike Hut must stay closed indefinitely, but as we noted earlier, there is water available in the picnic area. However, new County rules (and common sense) dictate the following. Please adhere to these new rules for everyone's safety and kindly remind people who don't that they need to - let's work together to stay safe!! ONLY ONE PERSON IS ALLOWED IN THE PICNIC AREA AT A TIME TO GET WATER. PLEASE ALSO KEEP A DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 6’ FROM EACH OTHER AS PEOPLE GO INTO AND OU...T OF THE PICNIC AREA. 1) Do not enter the picnic area if you are coughing or have a fever. 2) If you do sneeze or cough, cover your mouth. 3) No unnecessary physical contact.

The Bike Hut will be closed starting Friday, March 20 @5pm through at least April 7 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We will, however, have drinking water accessible at our outdoor picnic area. The Bike Hut porta potty will remain open as well (entrance is 200 ft. down the road to the east). Be well and take good care!
