My next play opens next weekend, July 9th, downtown at The Fire Escape Theater @ 414 Mason St. This is a wonderful dramatic play written by Dominic Hoffman that examines how two families, one white and one black, struggle with the recent and tragic death of their children. In the evening following one of the children's funeral service, an unknown past is revealed to one family and a difficult request is made by the other. Casting for the next show that I'm in with the Beverly Hills Playhouse and I need an African American Actor ASAP. Here's the role. Black Man (Eban Carter) in his late forties / early fifties. A calm, mild mannered man, given to philosophical but simple views of the world. He Is clear headed, and he was a friend of the Cooke’s daughter, and has a vested interest in her. She was his son's girlfriend ...unbeknownst to the Cookes. Hit me up immediately if you are interested at [email protected]

Another rave review for You're Gonna Cry! Working with Paul S. Flores to produce and direct his one man show has been a dream come true and has helped me heal i...n ways that I didn't anticipate. After losing my venue to the real estate raiders of the Beast on Bryant, I knew that producing this show would help me heal from the last two years of fighting with the developer to try and save our space. It was truly traumatic. We may have failed at saving CellSpace/Inner Mission but we have triumphed in keeping our stories alive. Thank you to everyone that has come out to support this important piece of theater. Thank you to Tyger Madenda, Ashley Smiley, Andrea Rodriguez and my wife Annie Reid for all the work you've done to make this show a reality. And thank you to Paul S. Flores for keeping the stories of the Mission alive. Thank you to the #Frisco5 for reminding me of what true grit and dedication looks like. Thank you to all of the community leaders, activist and artist that participated in our post show audience discussions: Benjamin Bac Sierra, James Tracy, Edwin Lindo, Amy Farah Weiss, Equipto, Adriana Camarena, and Luna Malbroux (This Friday). All of you kept the wind on my sails during this amazing journey. There are three shows left before we close. Do yourself a favor and see it before it's gone. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week. Get your tickets at www.theatermadcap.com

Supervisor John Avalos attended our show on Saturday and this is what he had to say: Went to see Paul Flores' tour de force show You're Gonna Cry on Saturday nights the Phoenix Theater on Mason. Great intimidate setting for urban spoken word/performance realism depicting a 1990s Mission District neighborhood and families shaken up by gentrification and the breakdown of family, community cohesion and personal responsibility. Loved it. Paul S. Flores performs with great verbal and physical spontaneity, riffing off our collective sense isolation and connectedness that is our lives. Please support our local artists and check out one Paul's remaining shows.

To all my peeps. This Saturday I will be performing in this amazing piece. I wish I could tell you all about it but I don't know what it is. All I know is that I show up on stage and do a totally cold read of this work. It's been done on Broadway by many a famous actor and several local actors. Please come out and support me. Then After this I head straight over to the Phoenix Theater for closing night of You're Gonna Cry. This weekend should be a great one. Show your boy some love!
