It's Fall Y'all!!! And what better way to celebrate than a trip to The Wellington's annual in-house Fall Farmer's Market? On October 7th, residents enjoyed complimentary shopping for fresh fruit, vegetables, fall snacks and pumpkins while enjoying the serene beauty and wildlife in our redwood forest.

The Wellington is hosting a Fall Farmers Market, inviting residents to reap the season’s freshest harvest. There will be fresh fruit, vegetables and even a pumpkin patch. Residents are sure to enjoy a variety of nutritious fall treats, including pumpkin lattes and hot apple cider brewed to order. They’ll also be able to take home a pumpkin to use for baking or to decorate for Halloween.

Residents at The Wellington will strap on their or don their dirndl to celebrate Oktoberfest at The Wellington! Being mindful of social distancing, the event will feature German spirits and lively entertainment. The talented culinary team has also planned an authentic Bavarian meal with schnitzel, sauerkraut, spaetzle and strudel which residents can enjoy from the comfort of their residences.

A strong believer in the power of positive thinking, resident Lilyan P. credits her 100 years to her consistently optimistic outlook. Positive thinking has gotten Lilyan through the tougher times in life. A model in the Manhattan Garment District, her first husband passed when her two sons were still young. Raising two boys on her own was challenging and fulfilling. Later when her sons were grown, Lilyan was passing through an airport, where a man caught her eye. She pointed at him and said "That's the kind of man I want to marry!" That is how she met her second husband, Arthur, of whom she was married to for 22 years. What a storied life!

If you're looking for proof that staying active has positive benefits, look no further than our resident Suzanna M., who is 100. Passionate about tennis, she was an avid player throughout her life, even owning a tennis sporting goods store in Hollywood with her husband Boris. Her advice? Take your time finding Mr. Right before settling down. and "Don’t eat a lot of sugar and stay active!"

Lara M., is one of our resident centenarians at 100 years young. Her advice to us all? Be careful of what you say because you can’t take it back. and "Take your chances - hope for the best.

"Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe." Sage advice from Trudy B., one of our six resident centenarians that we honored this week for National Centenarian's Day. Her favorite thing about living at The Wellington? "Not having to cook or clean, and having great friends!"

A very special party honoring The Wellington's resident Centenarians, Lee, Rally, Trudy, Suzanna, Lilyan and Lora, took place on 9/22 - National Centenarian Day. The oldest resident, Lee, who is 103 invited her younger sister to join in the celebration - she is 100 as well. So, 7 Centenarians in total were celebrated at The Wellington with warm wishes, champagne, cake, corsages and boutonnieres.

A true trailblazer, our resident Lee B. joined the U.S. Marine Corps and paved the way, becoming a Corporal. 103 years young, her secret to longevity is being socially active and an avid volunteer. Her advice? "Find out what you like and what you are good at, and keep busy with that."

National Centenarian’s Day is Tuesday, September 22. The Wellington will honor six residents who are 100 years of age and older during a special Social Hour. With safety in mind, the senior living community will adhere to social distancing guidelines and precautions. Each member of the ‘centenarian club’ will share their secrets for longevity and tips for aging well.

It's National Centenarian's Day! Give a warm virtual "hello" to our resident Rally B., who is 102. An engineering officer in the Navy during WWII, Rally has lots of interesting stories to tell, but most of all, he's proud of his three sons and is an avid stamp collector. His motto? "Everything in moderation."

Residents at The Wellington will have a magical time when resident Magic Marty amazes them with his incredible talents! A member of the Magic Castle in Los Angeles for many years, will perform illusions that will mystify and entertain his neighbors. The socially distanced event will feature classic tricks ranging from those with handkerchiefs and ropes and cards. He’ll also share the techniques behind some of his favorite sleight of hands techniques.

Sip Sip Hooray! The Wellington's Dining Room has reopened! To celebrate, residents enjoyed a bountiful "Bubbly Bar" with seven (7) specialty champagne cocktails. Party favors, photo ops and live entertainment were also part of the festivities. Afterwards, Executive Director, Sam Faye, escorted residents into to a fabulous dinner featuring beef tenderloin and parmesan crusted, orange roughy with beurre blanc sauce.
