My last client at The Upper Cut my granddaughter Quinn getting first haircut Cut the whole family's hair at the salon one last time I went to work at what was The Great Haircut Place at the age of 17, at 22 I bought this shop, worked with my son 40yrs. ago in my belly, and then my daughter Summer 32yrs. ago I worked with many people I love, learned a lot, recession, depression correction, and now Covid Its been in my heart to step back for a bit now so not wearing a mask... all day isn't possible for my line of work I did much of my spiritual work in my salon readings/ healings since 1992, taught classes since 2006, the salon is a "she" I have thanked her, loved her, and been blessed by her My lovely loving clients (some I'll still visit with), many are family As stylist we share their worries, failures, passings, and celebrate their joys, births and blessings. This is an angel's life Thank you Chula Vista for the memories See more

This is what's happening for salon owners in San Diego Nothing official yet but as an owner lots of guidelines to implement just in case. Many of us are NOT anxious to open are are NOT fully onboard with proposal, however "if and when" it is approved we must be ready I reached out to clients to pre-book, "just in case" sharing this may be changed and moved forward to a later date. I have been contacted during this time most clients have been very respectful to not ask me... to go against government guidelines Many clients have simply reached out to say hello and say they miss me Clients through the years have shared their triumphs, losses, fears, and joysit is a family The confusion and lack of insight has left many business owners on their own, luckily I have many other stylist across San Diego to lean into and try to get a pulse on what they are implementing as well From the outside to others this can look easy, it is NOT and we're all doing our best to follow government guidelines, which change day to day

For those of you with hilites,or lighter hair.. Less is more, use less than you think you'll need. This is to simply lighten strands around your face or part Not All Over There may be a tutorial on this product as well

For those of you considering coloring your hair, purchase a color 1 shade lighter than what you think matches your color. Apply equal amounts of color and developer but use only a 1/2 of each, apply to ROOTS ONLY, DO NOT PUT ALL OVER YOUR HAIR Your stylist will have an easier time correcting whatever you've done and you will still feel like your color that your stylist has done for you will still look great.
