Whether they're starting school in a classroom or at home, students still have a list of supplies. But for many, buying those items just isn't in the budget. Luckily, The Salvation Army and Walmart are teaming up again this year to help. Starting Friday, you can go into a participating Walmart store, purchase school supplies and drop them into a Salvation Army donation bin. You can also shop and donate anytime online. Go to TSAStuffTheBus.org for a list of online registries and locations in your area. #StuffTheBus #SalvationArmy #DoingTheMostGood @SalvationArmyUS

George Floyd worked security for The Salvation Army's Harbor Light Center in Minneapolis and was a beloved staff member. Today, as he is laid to rest in Houston, we remember last week when Salvation Army employees, officers and community members honored his death with a rally, flag and wreath laying (in The Salvation Army, when a soldier/member dies, they are, "Promoted to Glory"). Thank you Major Robert Doliber for the photo.

Happy Donut Day! June 5th is National Donut Day, which began with The Salvation Army in 1938. This tradition dates back to World War I, when nearly 250 Salvation Army volunteers traveled overseas to provide emotional and spiritual support, fried confectionary, clothes and supplies to troops. Armed with a helmet, rolling pins and baking supplies, volunteers called 'donut lassies' provided the soldiers a piece of home from the trenches of WWI.... With an unprecedented number of individuals needing assistance due to COVID-19, The Salvation Army remains committed to helping as many people as possible. See how you can help today at www.goldenstate.salvationarmy.org #DonutDay #TheSalvationArmy #DoingTheMostGood

The Salvation Army joins in the sorrow, anger and confusion felt by Americans all across the country following the death of George Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a former Salvation Army employee in Minneapolis, and the nature of his death is shocking to all of us who believe in a just, lawful and equal society. salarmy.us/georgefloyd

Give if you can at https://salarmy.us/GivingTuesdayNow "With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth and lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own."
