The Rotary Club of Fremont, California

Earlier this year, the African continent was declared free of the wild Poliovirus. There are only two remaining countries where Polio remains epidemic, Afghanistan and Pakistan. While we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, we should not forget the progress the world has made against other diseases like Polio with vaccination efforts. The fight to eradicate Polio is still not over, but we are very close. October 24 is World Polio Day.

Rotary Club of Fremont donated 100 comforters to the Fremont Housing Navigation Center which provides transitional shelter and assistance to people who experienced homelessness. Grand opening in early September!

Tim Tran wears many hats, and one hat that he is most passionate about is running. He has been running since middle school (35 years if you're counting). Regardless of time, location or weather (fog, rain, snow, ice, heat, day, night, etc), he runs. He runs when traveling. He runs while on vacation. Lake Elizabeth is location of choice. For year 2020, Tim has set a crazy, audacious goal to run 1,000 miles. For far this year, he has completed 653 miles and is ahead of schedul...e to achieve the goal.
