The Regency offers a weekly online class, inviting residents to stretch their way to better health while social distancing. A fitness instructor guides residents through a series of gentle movements that can be done from the comfort and safety of their residences. The class is just one of the many opportunities for fitness offered at the senior living community!

In honor of National Centenarian's Day on September 22nd, we are celebrating resident Peggy D., who is 103 years young. She worked as a telephone operator for a company named Wilmington and is most proud of her three sons and one daughter. Peggy has fond memories of her childhood, teens and 20s. Her advice for a 20 year old today: " Be yourself, be kind.

Without having to leave The Regency, residents can be entertained by the most talented performers and musicians. As part of the September schedule of online events, residents can virtually attend a concert via Opera Vision. Live streams from opera houses will take residents on a cultural journey from France to Germany. They’ll also have an opportunity to access the site’s digital library and articles to learn more about the theatrical productions. Lovers of the arts enjoy having access to this wealth of cultural programming while social distancing.

The Regency is known for its annual luaus. This year, the senior living community is putting a spin on the festivities to ensure social distancing and adhere to safety guidelines. The talented culinary has planned a mouthwatering feast with themed foods and beverages which residents can enjoy from the comfort of their residences. Everyone is encouraged to dress in floral print and don a lei as The Regency is turned into a tropical paradise!

We recently held a community art exhibit showcasing our resilience during these uncertain times. Many of our residents submitted their own works of art. Marilyn was proud to showcase her work of sailboats navigating the ocean. What better example of showing that we are in this together!

Residents at The Regency are embracing technology to keep connected while social distancing. The Zest Department offers one-on-one guidance on the use of smartphones, tablets and computers to stay in touch with family and friends via FaceTime and Skype. Residents’ families are also encouraged to submit photos and emails and send birthday/anniversary greetings via the SRG Sentiments program by emailing [email protected].

A lively patio concert will entertain residents and the talented culinary team has created a delicious all-American menu.

The Regency will honor the wonderful men calling the senior living community home with a day fit for a king! The Zest Department will also deliver well-wishes, photos, and videos submitted by residents’ families via SRG Sentiments to mark the occasion.

Plus, a fun door decorating contest will put everyone in a festive mood while social distancing.

With the coronavirus pandemic canceling graduation ceremonies across the country, The Regency wanted to celebrate the dining room servers who are part of the Class of 2020. Residents wrote heartfelt messages of hope and encouragement for the graduates.
