We found original 1971 wall posters of Sylvester in Braids by Clay Geerdes (1934-1987). Taken right before Sylvester left the Cockettes, the San Francisco-bas...ed acid-fueled performance troupe who combined their radical sex and gender politics with theatre, or as John Waters describes them, hippie acid freak drag queens. Measures 21 1/2 x 28 inches. @laurenmorrelltabak on stage @studsf available with other vintage Sylvester posters at darkentriesrecords.com See more

Happy Birthday to the loud and proud Sylvester James who would have turned 73 today. To celebrate we’ve remade a shirt from Sylvester’s 1979 UK Tour. The back o...f the shirt features a photograph of a sequin adorned Sylvester singing by Phil Bray. Each shirt includes a replica of a 1979 UK Tour Poster, a bright pink You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) badge and a postcard, hand-stamped and numbered in an edition of 100. All proceeds go to the two charities Sylvester left his royalties to after his death, Project Open Hand and PRC (formerly AIDS Emergency Fund). Thank’s to Sylvester’s estate for granting us the rights to this project. We also have one of a kind vintage Sylvester posters from the archives of The Magazine in San Francisco. They span Sylvester’s early years with the Cockettes to concerts with the Hot Band and even a giant fold out poster from his Christmas 1982 performance at The Saint in NYC. A once in a lifetime piece of history. Available at darkentriesrecords.com See more
