Summer camping Camping during the busy season requires planning 6 months in advance. Usually we are not planners and just grab last minute sites with flexible dates. But when my sister planned this Big Sur trip years ago, she had the reservation for months. Thankfully someone in my family plans ahead, bc we got to experience camping at this beautiful spot at the beginning of July, a month that gets booked up fast anywhere in California. These dirty faces and dirty feet a...re worth all the efforts! State parks are now booking for June. We know this year requires flexibility and it seems hard to plan for anything. Yesterday was our last day welcoming campers for at least the next three weeks. Due to the regional stay at home order, state campgrounds will temporarily close for overnight stays. Reservecalifornia will contact you and give you an automatic refund if you had reservations during this time. We were so excited to welcome campers this whole month and sincerely apologize to anyone this impacts! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. We appreciate ev...ery comment, share, message, and text. For our family, and I’m sure for many of you, camping has been our safe and happy place during this crazy year. We look forward to doing more of it after the new year and after we ride this next wave. This smiling face was our last guest yesterday and it was her and her family’s 2nd time back.
