My dad passed away 1 year ago today. We all miss him dearly ) : It makes it even harder to say that the business that he and my mother built up for 23 years is going to have to close down. Its one of the last old restaurants still around. Very hard thing for me to do. I don't know when, but it will most likely be very soon, within the next month or two. New owners bought the property NOT THE BUSINESS!!! and after her article came out in the Press (on line then in the newspape...r!!) I feel it really hurt our business, that was not doing well in the first place. I hope this economy changes because it truly scares me. The Cookhouse was my dads passion and I thing he kept this place open even though there was not much profit, if any. Not sure how this is going to play out. Our new landlords make keep it open (still under the Cookhouse with same menu) till she transitions it into her own business, a little sooner than she was expecting, seeing how we are on a two year lease. Just saying, that for those of you that knew my dad and even those of you who didn't. Please come by and eat at my mother and father's belovied Cookhouse. Thank you so much for all the support that all of our regular's have given us and our employees that have stuck by us through thick and thin and practically run the place. You guys are truly the best!! I will re-post this for all that missed it. Thank so much everyone!! In loving memory of my daddy. Love you sooo much and miss you every day dad. ( :

Yesterday a article came out in the Press Democrat regarding our business. We had no notice of this and just want all our Cookhouse fans to know the following.......No one has purchased the Cook House. The Cook House is the name of OUR business. In fact, the building in which the Cook House was located was purchased, not the Cook House. The Cook House is alive and well, and will continue to operate. Truly hope such a article from our new landlord doesn't hurt our business and all that my family has worked for. We love you all!! See more
