Stanislaus County Sheriff is sending letters on dormant stupid warrants from 25 to 30 years ago. This is totally stupid. The DA has a policy to dismiss old cases like this. In addition the Constitution requires it.. Unbelievable that the the Sheriff is sending scare letters to people in their 70s and older.... It almost looked like a scam. Our phones are blowing up with old people crying over 30 year old misdemeanor cases for driving without a license cases from 1992. Please. Spare us. This office for next 30 days will represent anyone who received a letter from Stanislaus County Sheriff threatening arrest for 20 year old garbage misdemeanor warrant at no charge. Probono for stupid dormant cases. Ridiculous. Shame on Sheriff who knows these cases are going to be dismissed. Boo.
