We opened our office here in Plano, Texas in January at the very start of tax season. What were we thinking ? Well, somehow we survived and just now coming up for air. We got our new sign and it is now official.

We are celebrating our 36th year serving the community here in Southern California. Time has passed so quickly, and the world has changed so much since I first started working at a small local CPA firm back in my home town of Honolulu, Hawaii, to supplement my income while in college. There were no personal computers back then, and if you were lucky you got an "electric" adding machine. Books were all done manually by hand, and it took a team of accountants to do the work ...of one today. We can do a lot more, quicker, more economically, and will less effort today. These are wonderful advancements in technology that I embrace and have managed to keep pace with all the new developments in the accounting, finance, and tax field. However, "More" does not necessarily mean "Better". In many cases, More translates to having too many options, making it difficult to choose one path and to stick to it. There is the temptation to take short cuts and not put in the hard work at the beginning to build your "house" on a solid foundation. This takes time, and the world is in a rush lately. The path to Success is through Failure, and through hard work, humility, determination, perserverance, passion, and a virtuous mission for a better society, we can build a wonderful life for all concerned, and be able to teach the next generation so that they can continue what we started. The formula for a successful business and life has not changed, we just have better tools that needs to be used wisely. In my career I have experienced every possible scenario from cradle to grave one could think of. I hope to be able to share my experiences with you, and to shine some light where there may be darkness, giving you comfort and security in navigating through rough seas.
