Our Community Centers will be closed on Friday, February 12 for a City of San Rafael furlough day and on Monday, February 15, in observance of Presidents Day. We look forward to seeing you when we return on Tuesday, February 16.

City offices, including our community centers, will be closed on Monday, January 18, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The San Rafael Recreation Division and the San Rafael Goldenaires are hosting a FREE Book & Puzzle Swap specifically for Adults 55 years and older. Please dro...p by the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B Street on Tuesday, November 10 from 10am-12pm. We'll set up tables with books and puzzles outside and participants will be required to wear a mask along with the provided gloves for browsing through the books. Only a few people will be allowed to look at the same time, keeping in mind physical distancing guidelines. We will place books and puzzles that are dropped off into quarantine until our next swap. Join Nikki Contini in Oven Baked Clay. Students will use polymer clay that can be baked in a kitchen oven! Imaginations go wild as students decide what to make:... tiny creatures and miniatures of any kind including food, robots, unicorns, monsters, beautiful jewelry, pinch pots, magnets, ornaments and other collectibles. Instructions, project ideas and guidance provided, but students are encouraged to create from their own vision! Students can make entire sets of characters and props for their imaginative stories and will be able to pull from Nikki's large collection of recyclable supplies and art materials to complete their projects. We’re looking for frightfully cute photos of your pets dressed in their HOWL-o-ween costumes for the first ever San Rafael Virtual Pet Parade! Our Recreation team successfully conducted summer programs providing kids the opportunity to recreate while adhering to all COVID-19 safety protocols and precautions and are happy to continue serving our community in the upcoming months. Based on new guidance and best practices from the County of Marin Health Officer, we are providing youth programs, such as art, language, outdoor activities and theater at all of our Community Centers, as well as Falkirk Cultural Center. Check online beginning next week to see which programs are offered at each Center. Register online beginning Monday, August 31 at 8:30 a.m. Go to www.livelifelocally.org.
