Today we finished this 22,000-gallon koi pond filtration retrofit in Carmel Valley. - The old system (pictures in comments) was dated, loud, and inefficient. During maintenance, the settling chambers would dump over 2,000-gallons of water, and the pumps and UV consumed lots of energy. - The new system dumps less than 200-gallons during maintenance, and utilizes two Abyzz America A1200 pumps and two Aqua Logic Inc ultraviolet sterilizers, significantly reducing power consumpti...on. We also installed a Neptune Systems Apex unit to remotely monitor temperature, pH, and flow. - Our client is ecstatic and can't believe the system is running... the A1200s are totally silent moving over 250 GPM (15,000+ GPH). Our aquarist Sam is delivering our last pair of captive-bred Biota coral beauties to a client today! These wonderful fish have been with us for a few months and grown rapidly. They're fully conditioned for an easy transition to their new home at a dentist's office in Salinas.

Check out this new monster calcium reactor being put through the paces. Shout out to our friends at uniquecorals for hooking us up with this DaStaCo calcium reactor! The DaStaCo is touted as one of the easiest calcium reactors to maintain. Time will tell, but right off the bat the simplicity is clear and exciting!

Tenji is proud to be part of the NSI program at Neptune Systems. We are currently testing the production model, prior to release, of an automated water sampling device called Trident. Trident automatically tests Alkalinity, Calcium and Magnesium multiple times a day in our reef tank and alerts us if any measurement is out of range. Keeping stable water conditions is key to successful reef keeping. This device will be a real game changer. Thanks to Terence Fugazzi for getting the Trident up and running yesterday. Setup was a breeze!
