Rabbi Rick and Cantor Alyssa will lead a short, lively Shabbat celebration with lots of singing and storytelling. Everyone at home can practice the Shabbat rituals like candle-lighting, Kiddush, and Hamotzi. It's a great way for our TSG kids to feel connected to their Judaism while we're physically apart. Tisha B'Av, which begins today at sunset, commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. Although a mournful holiday, it is also about the resilience of the Jewish people. So it has unique resonance this particular year, with the pandemic keeping us all apart physically. Just as the Jews of old had to reenvision their faith after the loss of their temple, so are we now reenvisioning our worship until circumstances permit us to gather together in person again. Be a part of this tradition of renewal by joining us via Zoom at 7PM TONIGHT for a special service, which will include prayers, songs, and readings from the Book of Lamentations.
