Hey friends! It's that time of year to help me raise money for Temecula Valley Symphony. Most of you know how much I love this organization. We serve hundreds of people in the Temecula, Murrieta and surrounding communities by providing fantastic concert programs and a vibrant youth symphony. Please don't forget us even though we've been quiet. Through your support we hope to be able to get back to live performances in 2021. Thank you to anyone who helps me support our nonprofit. - Alana Joos, Managing & Artistic Director - Temecula Valley Symphony and Youth Symphony.

Here's a very special video just released by our friends at the California Chamber Orchestra featuring Temecula Valley Symphony's former conductor Anthony Parnther on solo bassoon. This work was composed by Adrienne Albert a Southern California composer who I have had the opportunity to work with and played percussion on one of her orchestral pieces performed by Southland Symphony Orchestra for Sylvia Lee Mann. Enjoy "Serenade for Bassoon." You will be enchanted by Anthony's gorgeous bassoon virtuosity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkaE0ZTQADY&feature=youtu.be

My heart is broken as we all mourn the passing of Mary Dropkin, a friend, colleague, and fabulous musician who has contributed so much to our music community through her gorgeous harp performances and mentoring. She graciously played with Temecula Valley Symphony when she was available, in between her many gigs and busy schedule. We will miss you Mary but we will never forget your beautiful playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZ-BJQchZQ - posted by Alana Joos, Managing... & Artistic Director MARY DROPKIN, Principal Harp Mary Dropkin graduated from the University of Southern California in 1973, pursued additional graduate work there through 1975, and studied with Grace Follet (a student of Carlos Salzedo), Susann McDonald (former chairwoman of the harp departments at Juilliard and Indiana University), and Dorothy Remsen (prolific studio harpist in Los Angeles, formerly with National Symphony, Minneapolis Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic). Mary was the Principal Harpist in the San Bernardino Symphony since 1984. In addition, she performed with the Redlands Symphony, Riverside Philharmonic, Desert Symphony, and the California Philharmonic. She was on the faculty of the University of Redlands, and also had served as harp instructor at California State University, San Bernardino, and Pomona College.
