Great Oak High School Principal Joe Balleweg let his head be shaved and shaped into a Mohawk because his school excelled in its API scores this year. His students asked him to honor a pledge to shave his head when the school reached a high score of 850 and this year, the school reached a score of 853! His choices, said Balleweg, were: a shaved head, buzz cut or Mohawk. Wish my principal was that cool in high school! Go Wolf Pack!

Great Oak High School Among Nation’s Best! The Washington Post released its rankings of public high schools leading the nation in the availability of college preparatory courses. GOHS was ranked 700 from the top today in school standings for academic excellence amid challenges by the Washington Post. Since 1998 THe Post has ranked schools by how effectively each has prepared its students for college.... In its formula to determine the rankings, The Post divides the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests a school gave in 2010 by the number of graduating seniors. Only 7 percent of the approximately 27,000 U.S. public high schools qualified for the list, according to The Post. Great Job GOHS!
Statistics show that not many people purchase earthquake insurance. Even in areas where earthquakes are considered common, the purchase of earthquake insurance has decreased over the years. Earthquake insurance should be a consideration for all homeowners. Adding earthquake insurance can be done by a separate policy or as an endorsement to a current homeowner policy.
INSURANCE TIP OF THE DAY :) Not all renters need renters insurance. Dependents, such as college students, are covered by the homeowners policies of their parents or guardians while temporarily living away from home. Personal property at the rented dwelling or dorm is covered up to 10 percent of the personal property limit of the homeowners policy. The dependent is also covered up to 100 percent of the liability provided by the homeowners policy for claims involving personal liability and medical payments to others. If your child is bringing any special items like an expensive musical instrument to his new dorm residence, you can schedule it on your insurance to make sure it is covered .

TEMECULA TRAFFIC SAFETY The City of Temecula Public Works receives complaints about vehicular speeding on nearly every residential street in the City. The City can respond by providing speed limit signs and enforcement. But what can the residents do to help keep their neighborhoods as safe as possible? Typically, these are residents that are late for work, in a hurry to pick up their children, or anxious to get home See more
