Through 4 rounds Marius Lucan holds the lead in TCC85 but has his hardest tests remaining with NM's Scott Roods and Vadim Kudryavtsev left to play. We'll keep you posted.

The opening phase of Fall 2020 has begun, and underdog Maximus Bascon has captured the first tourney!!! Many veterans of the Jousts returned from long absences (Brandon Lee, Leo Zoller, Ben Reuben) and with the absence of the Arnold sisters it seemed certain that one of them would win it, but to everyone's surprise the 6 year old tore through his games with amazing tactical ability. In the final round he squared off against Brandon Yu. Watching Brandon's positional styl...e develop is something to behold. As he matures he becomes more and more adept at generating positions rich with space, harmony and possibilities. His game with Max was no different as he used a timely pawn break in the center to unlock the flow of all his pieces. Max's position was cramped until he broke it open with tactics and started chasing Brandon's beleaguered king. He emerged the winner and took clear 1st with 4 points! Brandon Lee showed great poise under time pressure against Giovanna Bascon and held Brandon Yu to a draw to go unbeaten with 3.5 points and take clear 2nd. See more

TCC 84 was won by Marius Lucan. He played a perfect score in a 10 round event with a solid top end of the field, so that's no easy task. Also, JJ summer 5 has been submitted for ratings and can be checked soon at uschess.org
