Never a bad time to remind members of their retirement, but the start of the year is always a good firm date to serve as a reminder point. Below are some graph...ics regarding the amounts that you personally contribute to your own pensions, how much your employer contributes, as well as the formula to determine how your pension payments are calculated. Just as a brief reminder, back in 2014 changes were made to fix the unfunded liability in CalSTRS, which included the increased contribution paid by members, making a two-tiered system for some that can retire with 2% at 60 and some at 62, as well as changing how the final pension payments are calculated (highest year vs average of highest 36 months).
