39 weeks Pregnant Partera update : 39 weeks is an important milestone in fetal brain development, I am proud of my baby and body for hanging in there to reach this milestone. Nearly all the items on my to-do list are checked off . My husband is off for Fall break this week and that has granted me some relief from distance learning parent teaching . My meal prep service by @mi_xantico started early this week to help me manage my blood sugar . It's been so delicious . I had a... solo maternity photoshoot to capture my pregnant body . All other photo shoots have always been with family . This time I wanted to capture my body , fully nude in its natural state . I want the gift of looking back at pictures in my old age to swoon over all that is beautiful that I might not appreciate now . My family through me a sweet baby blessing , I felt loved and cared for. It really meant the world to me to see everyone come through the way they did . I'm proud of the family and community we have fostered for ourselves here in San Diego . I have all I need for baby except for a car seat that my friend will loan me until our's arrives . Baby Mundo is relentless in the their stretching and movements . My leg cramps have dramatically improved with the Mega-Mag supplemental from Trace Minerals . My privileged pregnancy includes private midwifery , Acupuncture, chiropractic and bodywork care. I have all the care I ever dreamt about with all the rest of my children . It's been quite the journey to arrive here as a mujer , madre , partera at an advanced maternal age . I feel full just like that rising moon in my picture . Ripe and ready for this next cycle . I'm in no hurry , I'm happy just how I am in this moment just as I know I will be once Mundo is on this other side of my flesh . This weekend my family through me a sweet baby blessing . This cake was one of my favorite gifts . It's a gluten and dairy free , low sugar cake . Pregnant Partera update 37.5 weeks of pregnancy: hurray I made it to full term congrats to my body and baby for hanging on . Today I had my last midwifery team meeting with my apprentices and back-up Midwife . We went over quarterly reviews and how to hold it down while I'm gone on my maternity leave . It feels good to hand over the load to a strong competent team of midwives . I've been checking my blood sugar with a glucometer daily and happy to say that my blood sug...ar levels are under control with diet . I am still dealing with leg cramps Hydration and minerals are the key . Tomorrow I go on a solo maternity shoot at a Cactus nursery to capture what is most certainly my last pregnancy . My homebirth homevisit is scheduled for this Friday and im almost done collecting my home birth supplies . My husband was cleared for 12 weeks of paid family leave to care for me and our new baby . What a gift ! Every day my belly contracts more often and stronger . I can feel my baby shifting from being on right to the left , and I can feel his head putting more direct pressure on my pelvic floor . All signs that he's getting ready to enter my pelvis .
