Saturday, February 13, 2021 was Tej Acton Academy’s very first Open House. We got to hear from a lot of parents on their concerns for their child’s current traditional school and what is motivating them to explore other alternatives. The values parents connected with the most were Acton’s Hero’s Journey [embedded throughout every activity] which instills self confidence and respect, self-paced mastery-based learning, and project-based Quests which develop strong character traits. It's an amazing way to learn more about the Acton Academy model by being able to ask questions to the current students, parents and owners, as well as tour our facility. Our student's exhibition is their opportunity to display what they learned over this past six week session on Human Health. The planning and execution of which is completely managed by the students without any adult input. Tej Ac...ton Academy is a learner-driven school in the Evergreen foothills of San Jose offering in-person learning for grades 1-6. We accept students year-round and are limiting class size this year to 7 students.
